Joe Makes a Connection With The People

Vice President Joe Biden recently made the remark about Sarah Palin, "'Some of the things she says' are out there".

Well I would have to disagree. ALL of the things that she says are "out there". "Out there" for people to make informed decisions about whether they agree or not.

 Contrast this with most of the things that this administration does not being "out there" for the public to decide on. Point in fact. Obama's C-Span promises concerning transparency.

There is plenty of agreement on this statement Biden made to Larry King recently, ""Governor Palin appeals to a group of people who are generally frustrated, feel disenfranchised, are very conservative, not all of them…Tea Party people.”

Duh, do you think Joe? I wonder what is causing those sentiments by a growing section of America?

One area where he begins to show his disconnect though is when he made this comment, “She has appeal beyond that as well,(Tea Party movement) but I don’t know that it represents anything approaching a significant portion of the population.”

The comments made by the somewhat obscure Biden possibly point to the facts concerning whether he or this administration are in permanent disconnect with most Americans.

Really Joe, some of the things you say are just iii-i-i-iiii-i-iiii- "out there".

Progressive Smoke and Democratic Mirrors

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV)

Dictionary.com refers to it as--"a strategy of deception and cover up". Wikipedia refers to it as- "a metaphor for a deceptive, fraudulent or insubstantial explanation or description". It goes on to say that...."the source of the name is based on magicians' illusions, where magicians make objects appear or disappear by extending or retracting mirrors amid a confusing burst of smoke".

"The expression may have a connotation of virtuosity or cleverness in carrying out such a deception". In the idiomatic(not to be confused with progressive) sense--"A deceptive, fraudulent, or unconvincing explanation or description.

The inner workings of the idiom of smoke and mirrors, although not alluded to, were the intricate components of Saul Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals". Where have we seen that at before, boys and girls?

Blackstone, Kellar, and Copperfield could have excelled in the political arena, had the stage shows of their times undergone recessionary periods. Their sleight- of- hand would have been the delight of many a special interest group.

We, as a nation, would have to ponder, what if the progressive movement, with it's plethora of amateur illusionist, could employ the aforementioned masters?

Organizations such as, ACORN and Green For All, would undoubtedly attempt
to secure their talents for the art of community organizing. Van Jones, and his desire to be seen and heard, could not possibly remain as stealthy as these skilled magicians.

Nancy, Harry, and the other progressives in Congress, could perfect the talents of the aforementioned illusionist's. Under their tutelage, Healthcare Reform and the framework to subvert the republic would be a done deal. The earmarks and pork would be as unobserved as an Obama C-Span broadcast.

Al Gore's climategate and the case of the missing carbon credits, would still be shrouded in the mist of greenhouse gases and global eco-gospelism. The global warming scientist, who propagated the fraud of the century, would be as scarce as Che's love for mankind.

Anita Dunn's and Ron Bloom's infatuation with chairman Mao wouldn't be
revealed until the final act. YadaYadaYada....

I could go on- and probably will, at another point- but in the interest of not preaching to the choir, or beleaguering a point, the smokescreen the progressives have employed, is becoming easier to see through each day. Thank goodness, Copperfield hasn't decided to throw his hat in the progressive ring.

The first occurrence of smoke and mirrors in the history of mankind, was
employed in the Garden of Eden. Read the account for yourself in Genesis 3:1-7.

Insidious Wiles of Foreign Influence

Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence, (I conjure you to believe me fellow citizens) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake; since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of Republican Government........ George Washington, Farewell Address

George Washington was a man of tremendous insight and foresight, as pertaining to the future of America, and the future enemies of a republic his vision foresaw. The years have a way of diminishing, to some degree, the impact that the visionaries that founded this nation had in their lifetime. Thus, giving way to a people not being fully "awake" and aware of the wiles of insidious individuals lurking within the confines of our political system.

A common theme in the writings of our founding fathers was the danger of foreign influence to the newly established republic. With the advent of entities such as The United Nations, The European Union, and The World Trade Organization, America is more vulnerable and susceptible to foreign influence today, than in any point in our history.

Washington stated, in regards to the Constitution and the unity of the people in his farewell address, that,

"Towards the preservation of your government, and the permanency of your present happy state, it is requisite, not only that you steadily discountenance irregular oppositions to its acknowledged authority, but also that you resist with care the spirit of innovation upon its principles, however specious the pretexts".


In reference to the finger pointing of the current administration, for referring to the previous administration as leaving a mess for them to clean up with a "socialist mop",- there may be more truth to the statement than meets the eye.

In a March 2005 summit in Waco, Tex., President George W. Bush, President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin made a joint statement announcing the formation of "The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" (SPP). There are those that believe that this fact points towards the ultimate formation of a North American Union.

It is interesting to note that Washington alluded to a term " combinations and associations", as something that had the ability to be destructive of the fundamental principles that the Constitution is founded on. He made the statement,

" All obstructions to the execution of the Laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency".


Miguel Packard stated,

"After initially rejecting it, the idea of a "North American community" has come of age among U.S. government strategists and a convinced George W. Bush is now vigorously pushing it forward".


So once again, we must at least entertain the idea, of that of the current administration's summation, that Bush created a mess that they must clean up with a "socialist mop", may not be entirely false.

Washington went on to say,

"However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government; destroying afterwards the very engines, which have lifted them to unjust dominion".


Enter, Robert Pastor. Pastor told the Trilateral Commission in 2002 that the,

"North American Union needed to implement a series of political proposals which would have authority over the sovereignty of the United States, Canada and Mexico".


Pastor also mentioned the need to create North American passports and that North American Customs and Immigrations should have authority over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) within the Department of Homeland Security.

He believes also, that a North American Parliamentary Group should be developed to oversee Congress, and that a Permanent Court on Trade and Investment should be instituted to resolve disputes within the North American Free Trade Agreement, thus exerting final authority over the judgments of the United States Supreme Court.

He also advocates a North American Commission to "develop an integrated continental plan for transportation and infrastructure." This plan for a North American Union, in the estimation of some, opens the door for the legalization of the approximately 12 million illegal aliens that have already entered through the border of Mexico.

Pastor has also been, in the past, the vice chair of an independent task force for the Council on Foreign Relations'(CFR). Another member of the CFR, former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance John Manley,under the guise of making North America safer, made this statement in 2005.

"We are asking the leaders of the United States, Mexico, and Canada to be bold and adopt a vision of the future that is bigger than, and beyond, the immediate problems of the present." Also, "They could be the architects of a new community of North America, not mere custodians of the status quo.

In a May 17, 2005, statement, the ITF developed what they referred to as, " a roadmap to promote North American security and advance the well-being of citizens of all three countries". Some of the specific measures they proposed for creating a single economic space were,

•Allow for the seamless movement of goods within North America.
•Move to full labor mobility between Canada and the U.S.
•Develop a North American energy strategy that gives greater emphasis to reducing emissions of greenhouse gases -- a regional alternative to Kyoto.

Measures proposed for a safer North America were,

•Establish a common security perimeter by 2010.
•Develop a North American Border Pass with biometric identifiers.
•Develop a unified border action plan and expand border customs facilities.

There were numerous other proposals touched on by the ITF for the formation of a North American Union. Suffice it to say, that the blueprint for this new union, is being  followed to the tee, the model set forth by The European Union.

Suffice it to say as well, that a couple of the components of this plan, to, "Allow for the seamless movement of goods within North America" and "Move to full labor mobility between Canada and the U.S.", should look very enticing to operatives out of Yemen, searching for inroads into our infrastructure.

The insidious wiles of foreign influence. Washington admonished,"the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake". He also warned that, certain "combinations or associations" would result in, "cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people, and to usurp for themselves the reins of government".

The Bush administration began what the Obama administration refers to as a mess that he and Nancy have to clean up with a "socialist mop". The question could be asked, "Has the mess really, only been swept under the rug, and resurfaced as a socialist agenda?

Warnings Of A Parting Friend

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us". (Ecclesiastes 1:9-10)


Politics, nor political struggle in modern day society, is far from being any "new thing under the sun". History has recorded from the dawn of civilization, the political strife and struggles that have taken place in every culture that has ever existed. From the Pharaohs of Egypt, to the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, history has recorded for us, the best and the worst of each culture's vices and virtues. The virtues which helped them flourish and prosper, and those vices which eventually eroded their society's foundations.

As the oft quoted, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" teaches us, the political forces at work in America today,will continue to have negative implications on the generations to follow, should we sit by and let socialist values, immorality, and a falling away from God permeate our society . The very virtues that elevated us to one of the greatest nations on the face of the earth, have given way to the many vices that will eventually erode our foundations. We are at a critical juncture in American history as it pertains to our freedoms, liberty, and the Constitution. Yet, it is not the first time, nor will it be the last, that this Republic, and it's people, have stood against seemingly formidable foes.

Shortly before his retirement to Mount Vernon, in the twilight of his public service and life, George Washington penned his "Farewell Address To the People of the United States". In it he expressed his gratitude to it's people by stating his "deep acknowledgment of that debt of gratitude, which I owe to my beloved country for the many honors it has conferred upon me". Along with this gratitude, he also wished to convey to the American people that it was his fervent desire, that the blessings, which they had been beneficiaries of up until that point, would continue after his retirement.

There were many blessings which Washington desired that the fledgling nation continue to be beneficiaries of. Among these were, that they would continue to be recipients of Heaven's "choicest tokens of its beneficence", that their "union and brotherly affection would be perpetual", that the Constitution would be "sacredly maintained", and its administration "be stamped with wisdom and virtue". Towards that end, he offered what he referred to as "the disinterested warnings of a parting friend". Disinterested, only in the sense that he had no personal motive of selfish gain. These warnings were delivered to the Nation out of a deep concern, and as he stated, "a solicitude for your welfare which cannot end but with my life".

Upon reflection on the matter of his first desire, that they continue to be recipients of Heaven's "choicest tokens of its beneficence", this is certainly in keeping with the spiritual views of the majority of our founding fathers. James Madison made the statement,"We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future ...upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to sustain ourselves, according to the Ten Commandments of God". John Jay, one of the authors of the Federalist Papers,stated,"Providence has given our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as privilege and interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers". History records the fact that most of our founding fathers, as well as the people of colonial America, had a realization of, and a reliance upon, Divine Providence.

"Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known. Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people".(Proverbs 14:33-34)


As touching on Washington's second desire for the Nation, his wish was that their "union and brotherly affection would be perpetual". Perpetual, in the sense that it would be enduring and passed on to successive generations. Washington's admonitions and warnings were to a Nation still in it's infancy, and he had the tremendous foresight to know that their "union and brotherly affection", would not be without assaults from within and without it's borders. He admonished them to continue to love liberty "with every ligament of your hearts". He stated clearly that unity of the people was "a main pillar in the edifice of your real independence". He warned that division of the people through either race, party, classes, or even geographically would be a serious threat to their unity. Washington alluded to the fact that "this is the point in your political fortress against which the batteries of internal and external enemies will be most constantly and actively(though often covertly and insidiously)directed". In regards to unity of Government and unity of the people, Washington presented the caveat "watching for its preservation with jealous anxiety and indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our country from the rest".

Of all the desires that Washington had for the new Nation, that of the Constitution being "sacredly maintained", and its administration being "stamped with wisdom and virtue", is by far, the most arduous and meaningful task that we, as a Nation, have been entrusted with. Those founding fathers and their successors up until today, have left for our inheritance, a document, dedicated to our freedoms and liberties. It has been purchased with the blood of patriots from our beginnings to the present. Ask any Veteran who has taken that solemn oath,

"I, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."


That soldier will tell you that every time he or she stands at attention, The National Anthem is played, and "Old Glory" is proudly waving in the breeze, that there is not a time that they do not remember these solemn words,

"that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain".


It is incumbent upon us all, to remember from whence we came in regards to our founding. Imperative for us to seek and elect, in our government, those who hold truth, liberty, honor, devotion, and patriotism dear. Elected officials who have a reverence for our Constitution and the principles on which it was established. Those that realize that the first President of the United States, has given us a blueprint to follow, for the continued blessing that our forefathers were recipients of.

The "warnings of a parting friend", given with all the honesty and heart-felt compassion, that only a loving father could have for his posterity. This "parting friend", no doubt held this unwavering devotion for just a short time after this message was delivered. His desire to fulfil his dreams of rest in retirement had been put on hold, for his service to the Nation and it's people that he so dearly loved. On September 17, 1796, Washington made this statement to the people,

"I anticipate with pleasing expectation that retreat, in which I promise myself to realize, without alloy, the sweet enjoyment of partaking, in the midst of my fellow-citizens, the benign influence of good laws under a free government, the ever favorite object of my heart, and the happy reward, as I trust, of our mutual cares, labors, and dangers".


On December 26, 1799 a eulogy on behalf of the nation was read by Henry Lee, a Virginia congressman. An excerpt reads:

"First in war, first in peace and first in the hearts of his countrymen, he was second to none in the humble and endearing scenes of private life. Pious, just, humane, temperate and sincere—uniform, dignified and commanding—his example was as edifying to all around him as were the effects of that example lasting….Correct throughout, vice shuddered in his presence and virtue always felt his fostering hand. The purity of his private character gave effulgence to his public virtues….Such was the man for whom our nation mourns".


"But a solicitude for your welfare which cannot end but with my life"..George Washington

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.(2 Chronicles 7:14)

Do We Need A Fundamental Transformation of America?

"We are five days away from fundamentally transforming The United States of America".

This statement, made by Barack Hussein Obama, will undoubtedly go down as one of either the most absurd, or most prophetic in American history. The basis on which the outcome is determined, is whether or not the American people will stand by and let socialism take root, or recognize it for what it is and abolish it. Does America need a fundamental transformation?

We stand at the threshold of one of the largest threats to American freedoms since the tyranny from which we won our independence during The American Revolutionary War (1775–1783). Some of the charges that were leveled at the King of Great Britain in the Declaration of Independence were that of "altering fundamentally the forms of our governments: For suspending our own legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever". That document goes on to say as well that," Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes;..".

Regardless of which side of the political aisle you position yourself on, Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, the fact remains that this country has elected an administration whose ultimate goal is the "altering fundamentally" of a "government long established".

This president ran on a platform promoting and promising change. In essence, transformation is change. Once again, regardless of which party you choose to align yourself with, there is no denying that the way the government does business is desperately in need of an overhaul. Not necessarily a transformation, a refocus, a return or realignment with the fundamentals.

Do we, as a country, need a fundamental transformation? Let's examine a little closer, a few key words connected with President Obama's statement, his platform, and The Declaration of Independence. Altering, fundamentally, and change. It could be argued that the phrase,( leveled against the tyrannical king), "altering fundamentally the forms of our governments", could possibly be construed as meaning the same as " fundamentally transforming the United States of America". That is such a valid argument, even a liberal would have to agree.

The platform of "Change", on which he campaigned, is consistent with transforming, to a certain degree. The process of altering, mentioned in the DOI, is consistent with transformation. The act of changing "governments long established" for light and transient causes", is described as shunning prudence. Obviously, I could run around in circles all day with this, but, you get the point. That is such a valid argument, even a conservative would have to agree.

I believe there is a defense for the overwhelming majority of American citizens who were deceived by the "hope" and promise of "change". The dreams and aspirations envisioned by the masses as they listened to the great, swelling words of hope and change from this eloquent orator weren't the same changes that he had in mind. The masses envisioned a change from big government bureaucracy and the stranglehold the oil companies and middle eastern nations have on us. Changes in foreign and domestic policy regarding jobs and the war on terror. The change that the great orator meant was the transformation of our "government of the people, by the people, for the people", to a socialist society.

One other charge directed at the British Crown, was "declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever". This administration has seen fit to put individuals of a like mind, in regard to socialist views, in the position of czars. These appointed, as opposed to elected, individuals are in some cases, Marxists and communist radicals, who have nothing but disdain for the principles on which this Nation was founded. They have been set in governmental roles which allow them free reign, without congressional approval, to "legislate for us in all cases whatsoever".

Do we need a fundamental transformation of The United States of America? I submit that America needs to refocus on the principles on which this great nation was founded. We need a realignment with the morals and convictions that our founding fathers had. We need a return to the times when John Jay penned "The Federalist Papers" as he looked out over a fledgling nation and made these comments.....

"America was not composed of detached and distant territories, but that one connected, fertile, widespreading country was the portion of our western sons of liberty. Providence has in a particular manner blessed it with a variety of soils and productions, and watered it with innumerable streams, for the delight and accommodation of its inhabitants. A succession of navigable waters forms a kind of chain round its borders, as if to bind it together; while the most noble rivers in the world, running at convenient distances, present them with highways for the easy communication of friendly aids, and the mutual transportation and exchange of their various commodities.
With equal pleasure I have as often taken notice that Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people--a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs, and who, by their joint counsels, arms, and efforts, fighting side by side throughout a long and bloody war, have nobly established general liberty and independence."

Do we need a fundamental transformation of America? Listen to that again, "Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people--a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government". Providence: God conceived as the power sustaining and guiding human destiny. The founding fathers recognized that Divine Providence was the one that delivered them from tyranny. They were convinced that Divine Providence had brought them to this continent, this country. They were aware as well that they were a united people, of the same religion, and "attached to the same principles of government".

In his remarks to a grieving, but healing Nation at Gettysburg, Lincoln spoke these solemn and immortal words. "...."It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us.........." that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom - and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth"...... Once again, God was mentioned as being involved with the process of healing and in some sense a "transformation". You see, a "new birth of freedom" is a transformation. Not a transformation or "new birth" of government, but of it's people.

Do we need a fundamental transformation of America? The answer to that is an unequivocal yes! We don't need a fundamental transformation in the sense that Barack Obama is talking about, of government. America needs the kind of fundamental transformation that President Lincoln meant when he spoke that immortal line "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom". A new birth of freedom for the people. A government once again "of the people, by the people, for the people. Once again, as at Gettysburg, we as a nation stand at a crossroads. We must resolve "to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us". We, the people, need to take this country back.
